Isle of Man Easter shooting festival

The Isle of Man Easter shooting festival presents a fantastic opportunity for people to attend an ISSF recognised event and is a great introduction to the top level of shooting. The event covers many types of shooting from Air rifle, cartridge pistol to Smallbore rifle. It is held over the Easter weekend each year and finished with a formal dinner and presentation of prizes.

The event is used by some of the Home Countries as a selection event for the country squads and teams and this means the event is well attended by some of the top shooters in the UK. However don't let this put you off entering, the competitions are divided into classes and there are prizes for classes X, A, B, C and Junior awards. Class definitions are based on averages and each entrant must supply their average to ensure they are placed in the correct class and shoot against people of a similar standard.

The event takes place over the Easter weekend each year with practice on Good Friday and the main events on Saturday and Sunday. Entrants from the UK usually travel to the Island on the Thursday and return on the Monday which provides time to explore the island when they are not shooting.

Range location

The 50 meter rifle events, prone and Three Position, will be held at the Sinclair Range, St John's.  This is in the center of the Island and approximately a 20 minute drive from Douglas.

The Range has 32 shooting lanes all equipped with Gehmann target systems.  There is a roomy covered firing point and Clubhouse serving refreshments throughout the day.  The Clubhouse and its facilities are wheelchair friendly.

Full ISSF equipment control will be available, staffed by qualified ISSF judges.

Events include the following competitions:

The events that are open to Smallbore rifle shooters are highlighted in the list above
